Class Description

In this Shamanic Journey Weekend Retreat, you will be guided on one of the most empowering experiences of your life by Fran Carns, Shamanic Healer. Fran has been awakening people for over 25 years in dedicated practice under the supervision of the Elders. She has grown and lived most of her life according to the Native American Ways. Her Grandfather, Grey Feather, gave her the name "One Who Brings Hope". She is very humble for all that crosses her path as a gifted clairvoyant and visionary. She will guide you through your transformation. Reaching your authentic self, you will not discover who you are, but remember who you are.

• Weekend Activities
  Awakening to the four directions and Mother Earth and Father Sky; Gathering your own talking stick and opening to the teaching of the stick; Full Moon Ceremony Saturday night; Journeying to the good and bad medicine and awakening to the creation of your own medicine bag; Working with spirit rock and stone people; Stargazing and learning the symbols of the stars; Participating in the Council Fire as we journey into the soul; Participating in Cornmeal Circle and creation of Sacred Space; Learning to love Sacred Space; Developing / awakening the child within and accepting the grace of all experiences as they unfold; Releasing and surrendering that which serves no purpose.
   

• What To Bring
  A flashlight, tent, sleeping bag, towels, and bug spray; Layers of clothes and good walking shoes for hiking; Loose tobacco to offer Mother Earth and Sacred Fire; A drum or rattle if you like. You also may bring a sacred object of your own to carry on your journey; A notepad or journal for personal reflections about your journey; Many gifts on the walk may be offered to you. Bring ½ yard of red cloth and white ribbon as well as red ribbon for your medicine bag; An ankle-length skirt (women) or bathing trunks and wrap-around towel (men) for participation in Healing Lodge. You will also need to bring a blanket you are no longer in need of. Plan for a lot of hiking, so hiking boots are recommended.
   

• Food and Beverage
  Bring cooler with light foods and snacks. It is best not to eat heavy when doing healing and cleansing work; Recommended foods include veggies, fruits, tuna fish, trail mix and yogurts; Water will be provided along with Saturday night’s Ceremonial Dinner.
   

• Program Rules
  Absolutely no drugs or alcohol will be permitted at the gathering. We also ask that you to abstain from drugs (other than prescribed medication) and alcohol for at least four days prior. As we all know, drugs and alcohol are a distraction, and we need not be distracted. We need to work with a clean mind and clean body.
  
  All participants are required to attend the entire retreat except by prior special circumstance approval from Fran Carns. Wednesday night is very important to the retreat. After tents are set up and participants are settled, there will be an opening fire ceremony where we welcome our spirit guides and ancestors, and ask for their help to guide us through our journey.
   

• Location and Provisions
  The new location this year's retreat, 4040 Pump Station Rd in Cameron Mills, NY, is approximately two hours away. Participants are encouraged to car pool. Please be at Angels at Work no later than 12:00 p.m. Wednesday. Click Here for map and directions. In addition, no indoor lodgings are available at the retreat center, so please be prepared to bring your own camping equipment.
   

• Cancellation Policy
  $50 deposits are non-refundable. A $50 cancellation fee will be applied to refunds for registrations cancelled prior to registration deadline that are paid in full. Paid registrations cancelled after the registration deadline will not be refunded. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
