Acupuncture is a
traditional Chinese medical technique for unblocking chi (ch'i or qi)
by inserting needles at particular points on the body to balance the
opposing forces of yin and yang. Chi is an energy that permeates all
things, and flows through the body along 12 main pathways called
meridians. When yin and yang are in harmony, chi flows freely within
the body and a person is healthy. When a person is sick, diseased,
or injured, there is an obstruction of chi along one of the
meridians. |

health, etc., or a variety of issues found in family and marital

Practitioners of this
range of therapies find blockages or stagnations in the energy field
in and around the body and restore its proper circulation and
balance, stimulating the body's innate healing capacity. The
practitioner uses subtle touch or holding on specific points to
harmonize the flow of energy through the body and to enhance the
body's structural balance. Energywork is effective in promoting the
healing of many conditions and promoting well-being on all levels. |

Holistic Health is the art and science that
addresses the whole person, body, mind and spirit. The
practice of holistic health care integrates conventional
and complementary therapies to prevent and treat
disease, but most importantly to promote optimal
health. The American Board of Holistic Medicine
establishes standards of care in the application of
the body of knowledge encompassed by Holistic
Medicine, so that these concepts can be fully
integrated into medical practice, education, health
planning and research.

A natural healing system that is based on the principle that 'like
cures like' that is, the same substance that in large doses
produces the symptoms of an illness cures it when administered in
very small doses. Homeopathic physicians believe that the more
dilute the remedy, the greater its potency. Therefore, homeopaths
treat illness by using small doses of specially prepared plant
extracts and minerals to stimulate the defense mechanisms and
healing processes of the body. |

Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis for therapeutic purposes, and
should only be employed in this manner by a licensed professional.
The main ingredients of this approach include: (1) deep relaxation,
(2) intense concentration, and (3) high suggestibility on the part
of the subject. During hypnosis, the hypnotist uses techniques that
foster a very relaxed state in which defenses or resistance is
lowered. Then, suggestions are given that are related to the purpose
of the procedure, or the subject's mind or imagination is explored
in order to gain insight or access to memories (though accuracy is
not enhanced). |

The principal objective of Integrated Energy Therapy (I.E.T.) is to
provide safe, gentle, yet powerful, support to release suppressed
feelings, and the energy blockages they cause, from our cellular
memory. Releasing the blocks allows for self-healing on all levels
(physical, emotional, mental and spiritual). IET uses a divine
angelic energy ray to work directly with one's 12-strand spiritual
DNA to re-align and re-balance the body. Once the energy field is
clear and the body has become re-balanced, we find ourselves free of
limitations to our good health, life purpose, prosperity and
creativity. IET can, therefore, be a tremendously empowering
experience. |

provide
their clients with a balanced approach to improving and maintaining

Naturopathic medicine
proposes that there is a healing power in the body that establishes,
maintains, and restores health. Practitioners work with the patient
with a goal of supporting this power, through treatments such as
nutrition and lifestyle counseling, dietary supplements, medicinal
plants, exercise, homeopathy, and treatments from traditional
Chinese medicine. |
|
|
|
The use of diet as a therapy serves as the
foundation of naturopathic medicine. There is an
ever-increasing body of knowledge that supports the
use of whole foods and nutritional supplements in
the maintenance of health and treatment of disease.
Nutritional therapy focuses on using nutrients like
vitamins, minerals and amino acids in appropriate
doses. |

Reiki is
a Japanese technique for stress reduction and
relaxation that also promotes healing. It is
administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the
idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through
us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life
force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get
sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more
capable of being happy and healthy. The word
Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means
"Higher Power" and Ki which is
"life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually
guided life force energy." |
