UNDERSTANDING NATUROPATHY
Common Tests & Modalities
In
addition to the standard medical diagnostic tools
including height, weight, blood pressure and basic lab
work, your Naturopathic Health Practitioner may use
specialized diagnostic techniques to evaluate your both
your general health and any pre-existing conditions, and
recommend alternative therapies that you may not be
familiar with.
Iridology
Iridology is the science and study of the color and
astrictive of the iris to determine tissue weakness and
body predisposition to weakness. It is not used for
diagnosis, but is a tool used as a means of assessing the
conditions and levels of general health.
Testing pH Balance
Testing your pH (Potential of Hydrogen) involves dipping a
test strip into a first morning urine, allowing the
measure of relative acidity or alkalinity in your body.
The pH test will also give a numerical value to
concentration as well as checking protein, carbohydrate,
and absorption levels.
Muscle Response Testing
Energy flows through your body, and always looks to
restore your body to health. MRT helps to determine
energetic imbalances by touching acupuncture points to
check for weakness in the body’s energy flow, which helps
determine what the body needs to restore health and
well-being.
Nutrition & Exercise
If the body is unable to digest properly, then
nutrients are not being adequately absorbed. The body will
begin to show signs of stress, become unable to fight
fatigue, and will bestow you with painful joints, sinus
headaches, and much more. Your Naturopathic Practitioner
will assist you in designing a diet that is both healthy
and workable for you. Herbal supplements to aid in
bringing the body back to its natural state of balance
will be recommended, and an exercise plan that is
effective in stress relief and improving cardio health and
bone strength will also be addressed.
